About
I’m on a journey to find the best coffee shops located in Pensacola, Florida. Adventuring through town, I’m looking to learn about the best I can while learning about this city and the ventures people have made. On my first coffee stop, I’m visiting Bon Beans Coffee! Located on East Nine Mile Rd, this small coffee shop is locally owned by Brett Lemox.
Bon Beans Coffee proudly serves De Luna Coffee. Brett purchased Bon Beans Coffee back in March of 2024 while also owning De Luna Coffee, which is making headways in the coffee industry.
Back in October of 2024, I wrote a review on Google while I was in the cafe, writing “This is probably the coziest little coffee shop I’ve been to where everything hit the mark! You can either dine in or get takeout, whichever you prefer. The environment is perfect for getting some work done while not being too noisy. I got a latte recommended by the barista working (off their fall menu) and it was amazing! I’m definitely coming here more after this!”
Bon Beans Coffee has their own website so make sure to check it out! bonbeans.com

Rating/Overview
In my quest to find the best coffee shops in Pensacola, Florida, I came up with my own rating system to keep track of the best ones I have come across.
Atmosphere: 9/10 The atmosphere was calm and inviting, which is exactly what I would be looking for in a cafe where I need to get some work done or just hang out with some friends.
Service: 8/10 The baristas were sweet and helpful. When I needed a minute to look at the menu I didn’t feel rushed and she was there to take my order when I was ready. The first time I visited I asked the barista for what she recommended she was happy to help.
Coffee Quality: 7/10 I normally order lattes at cafes and I did here as well, the notes of the coffee were nice and melded with the flavors in the drink as well, with no bitter aftertaste.
Uniqueness: 7/10 I’m looking for interesting experiences with a welcoming environment, Bon Beans Coffee has artwork from local artists for sale as well as De Luna Coffee. The couches and chairs allow for a familiar environment as well.
Overall Rating: 7.75/10
For my first rating on the Pensacola Coffee Review series, I might have to come and visit again in the future. I’ve visited plenty of cafes before and this one has the most calm, familiar vibes.
Atmosphere

I’ve gone to Bon Beans Coffee only twice so far, but both times have left me wanting to go back! The staff is super friendly and willing to share their expertise if you have any questions. With their drinks, you can either get them for here or to-go, allowing a more comforting cafe style.
The cafe offers multiple seating options with outlets, allowing for cozy lounging on a couch with friends, or a table with an outlet to get some writing done, either option allows for comfort. The layout of the cafe makes it easy to see the menu and order with the baristas, never feeling rushed to order.

The cafe has a calmer vibe when you’re meeting with a friend or trying to get some work done. There is plenty of room though if you want to bring your family of 5 or a small group of friends for a hangout.
Bon Beans Menu

Bon Beans Coffee has an interesting version of your typical menu. On top of your usual coffee shop menu, there is a secret barista menu where you can order some of the barista’s favorite drinks. On top of that, they have a changing seasonal menu throughout the holidays. I came in and ordered their King Cake Latte for Mardi Gra, the drink featuring spiced brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla topped with cinnamon powder.
After your regular lattes and coffee, Bon Beans Coffee also features rechargers, lemonades, and smoothies. My boyfriend ordered a recharger off their menu and it was pretty good! If you like energy that’s a little more on the sweeter side, it would be a great option!
I always order an iced vanilla latte with oat milk when I visit a new cafe in order to have a fair judgment on the quality of the drinks. I wouldn’t say it’s the best latte I’ve ever had, a little watery but still plenty delicious.

Bon Beans Coffee also offers a selection of food items such as sandwiches and pastries to choose from. From big muffins to amazing cinnamon rolls, there is plenty to choose from if you’re looking for a bite to eat!
Discounts
UWF students can get 10% off their purchase when showing their student ID to the barista. Since this is located just west of the university, it’s a great deal for students when they need a separate place to get some work done.
Reward Points
Bon Beans Coffee has a reward point system through Square. Every visit amounts to one point as long as you spend more than $4. As of writing this, 5 points is 20% off, 10 points is 50% off, and 15 points is 100% off. Only “an item in 9 select categories” can be chosen through Square, yet I can’t find those 9 select categories.
You’re also able to access these rewards through Cash App with their loyalty program.
From a customer standpoint, this isn’t my favorite type of reward system. When paying for a large group of friends and spending a lot of money, only getting one point from the trip can be a little disheartening. I would prefer if you get points based on how many items you order or how much
Downsides
The only downside I noticed the few times I’ve been was the price of alternative milk. The most frequent time I went I noticed I got charged 99 cents for oat milk. When ordering alternative kinds of milk, I know there can be upcharges, but almost by a dollar does seem to be a little absurd (fully in my opinion).
